WORLD AIDS DAY MOVIE SCREENING AT URI PROVIDENCE CAMPUS

PROVIDENCE, RI – Partners in Learning about AIDS (PL-AIDS), Isis Storm and the URI Alumni of Color Network invite you to join us for a film screening on the URI Providence/CCE campus on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, World AIDS Day, to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS and its related issues. Our goal is not to host a large seminar, but to mainstream the topic of HIV/AIDS by making… a movie available to students who may be at the campus in-between classes and to community members in the downtown area.

PL-AIDS Project is a nonprofit organization founded and run by Brown University students that are involved with grassroots HIV/AIDS advocacy, services, and prevention in the Providence area and abroad. (www.plaidsproject.org)

Isis Storm is a RI-based collective of female musicians, writers, poets, media producers, and educators founded by two URI alumni who wanted to bring attention to local female artists while working on behalf of women and communities of color. (www.isisstorm.com)

The mission of the Alumni of Color Network is to provide professional and personal development, networking, advocacy and community building opportunities for alumni and students of color of the University of Rhode Island. (www.advance.uri.edu/alumni/acn)
